Welcome to The Alexander Homestead Log Cabin, a luxurious "treehouse" in  the Smoky Mountains
Welcome to The Alexander Homestead Log Cabin. Upon first glimpse of my cabin, perhaps you will be reminded of an earlier, simpler time in younger years when you dreamed of living in a treehouse in the woods. This charming log home offers seclusion and privacy, quaintly tucked away in woods screened with mountain laurel. My woods are home to the squirrels, chipmunks and many various species of birds. In the morning hours and throughout the day you may find yourself being charmed by the entertaining antics of the squirrels and their beautiful and whimsical  feathered friends. And as the saying goes, "if you feed them, they will come". Later on as you relax in the swing or hammock with a glass of wine or your favorite book you may be soothed by the sounds of the wind rustling through the trees or the rushing waters of the nearby creek.

Entering through the front door by way of the wraparound deck, you will be welcomed by the charming wood burning stone fireplace and airiness of the Alexander Homestead. Upstairs in the loft you will find Bonnie's room furnished with twin beds and family antiques, and off of that, a cozy nook in which to read, play board games or simply just daydream. As you venture downstairs you encounter the master bedroom, which is so private you are not even aware of its presence. It is oversized with two sets of French doors leading out onto the beautiful wraparound deck where a covered hot tub awaits you.

This cabin is in a great location for day trips. Gatlinburg is only a 45 mile drive through the spectacular Smoky Mountain National Park, and if you continue on for 15 more miles you reach Pigeon Forge. The Biltmore Estate in Asheville is 35 miles way. The entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway is a mere 10 minute drive from the Alexander Log Cabin. If you are an outdoor  enthusiast, Bryson City which is about 45 miles away has lake or river kayaking, whitewater rafting, fly fishing, biking and hiking.
Ghost Town is 1 1/2 miles down the road and in the winter skiing is available at Cataloochee just a few miles up the mountain from Ghost Town. And as a previous guest says, "This cabin is even better than the pictures. It is well kept and clean. It makes for the perfect mountain getaway if you want to be AWAY from everything, yet CLOSE enough to all the places you need to go. We will definitely be coming back to this JEWEL in the mountains".
